Open Streets Minneapolis is a free event bringing together community groups and local businesses to temporarily close major thoroughfares to car traffic, opening them up for people walking, biking, rolling, and playing. It is more than a street festival. Open Streets Minneapolis gives residents and visitors an opportunity to explore their neighborhood in a safe, fun, family-friendly environment.

3rd Annual Chalkfest at Arbor Lakes | FREE

Chalkfest will feature sidewalk chalk art by professionals, amateurs and art enthusiasts from across the world. About 45-50 professional street artists will travel to Main Street Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove from around the country and as far away as the Netherlands and Ukraine to showcase their amazing talents!

Solar-Powered Sculpture | FREE

 June 9th | 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

 Minnesota Children's Museum

Artist Gita Ghei will work with kids to create a Rainbow Spinner, a solar-powered sculpture that celebrates light and the formation of rainbows and colors. Using aluminum and copper foil, each visitor will create a distinct piece of art that represents their own unique super power. This artwork will be added the spinner, which will be installed in the museum's Tip Top Terrace in summer or fall.
